Mental Health First Aid is a program that teaches family members, friends, teachers, coaches, and neighbors how to recognize and help someone who maybe developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health of substance abuse crisis. Using role-playing and simulations to demonstrate how to assess a mental health crisis, select interventions and provide initial help, the training also addresses the risk factors and warning signs of specific illnesses, like anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and substance abuse disorders. Classes at Spectrum Healthcare are free and based on an international program designed to help individuals , first responders, family members and others to understand mental illness and how to help persons suffering. You can help those in need.
